Postgraduate Training Positions July 2026 at National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), Karachi
The Medical Education Department of NICVD invites applications through its online portal for the following training positions at NICVD Karachi. Basic eligibility for all positions: MBBS, house job and valid PMDC registration.
Department of Adult Cardiology
- FCPS Postgraduate Trainee (3 years): FCPS-I with IMM training completed; IMM passed candidates preferred
- Diploma in Cardiology PG Trainee (2 years): MBBS, house job, valid PMDC
- Clinical Fellow (1 year): FCPS Cardiology training completed
- TRMO Tier I (1 year): MBBS, house job, valid PMDC
- TRMO Tier II (1 year): MD / Diploma in Cardiology trained or qualified
Department of Interventional Cardiology
- Post Fellow (2 years): FCPS Cardiology qualified; 6 months (post FCPS) CCU experience preferred
Department of Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology
- Post Fellow (2 years): FCPS Cardiology qualified
Department of Cardiac Imaging
- Post Fellow (2 years): FCPS Cardiology qualified
Department of Cardiac Emergency
- Post Fellow, Acute Cardiovascular Care (ACVC) Certification Program (2 years): FCPS Cardiology qualified
- Clinical Fellow (1 year): FCPS Emergency Medicine training completed
Department of Critical Care Medicine
- Post Fellow (2 years): FCPS qualified in General Medicine / Cardiology / Anesthesia / Emergency Medicine / Pulmonology / Nephrology
- Clinical Fellow (1 year): FCPS training in General Medicine / Cardiology / Anesthesia / Emergency Medicine / Pulmonology / Nephrology
Department of Paediatric Cardiology
- Post Fellow (3 years): FCPS Paeds Medicine qualified
- Clinical Fellow (1 year): FCPS Paeds Medicine training completed
- TRMO Tier I (1 year): MBBS, house job (in Paeds Medicine), valid PMDC
- TRMO Tier II (1 year): MD / MCPS / Diploma in Paeds trained or qualified
Department of Paeds Cardiac ICU
- Post Fellow (2 years): FCPS Paeds Medicine qualified
- Clinical Fellow (1 year): FCPS Paeds Medicine training completed
- TRMO Tier I (1 year): MBBS, house job (in Paeds Medicine), valid PMDC
- TRMO Tier II (1 year): MD / MCPS / Diploma in Paeds trained or qualified
Department of Cardiac Surgery
- Post Fellow (2 years): FCPS Cardiac Surgery qualified
- Clinical Fellow (1 year): FCPS Cardiac Surgery training completed
- FCPS Postgraduate Trainee (3 years): FCPS-I with IMM training completed; IMM passed candidates preferred
Department of Paediatric and Congenital Cardiac Surgery
- Post Fellow (3 years): FCPS Cardiac Surgery qualified
- Clinical Fellow (1 year): FCPS Cardiac Surgery training completed
- TRMO Tier I (1 year): MBBS, house job (in Paeds Medicine), valid PMDC
Department of Anesthesia
- Post Fellow CTA (2 years): FCPS Anesthesia qualified
- FCPS CTA (3 years): FCPS-I with IMM training completed
- FCPS Postgraduate Trainee (2 years): FCPS-I (Anesthesia) qualified
- Clinical Fellow (1 year): FCPS Anesthesia training completed
- TRMO Tier II (1 year): MD / MCPS / Diploma in Anesthesia trained or qualified
How to apply
- Log in at http://pgme.nicvd.org/ to apply and follow the procedure on the online portal. A candidate can apply for only one position at a time.
- Applications are accepted only through the official online portal; no courier or hand submission.
- Selection is purely on merit. Applicants can apply from all over Pakistan.
- Only shortlisted applicants will be called for interview / test. No TA/DA admissible.
- Government employees must apply through proper channel and bring NOC at the time of interview. Foreign applicants must have a valid student visa and PMDC certificate.
- All courses are full-time training positions. No one may work with any other organization during training, except TRMO (Tier I and II).
- Application processing fee and admission fee will be applicable. Stipend as per NICVD policies.
- Training will start from July 2026.
