April 2025 Attempt
- The online submission for JCAT began on 3rd February 2025 and ended on 17th February 2025, while the exam was held on 13th April 2025. The result was announced on 5th May 2025.

- The passing Percentage according to the new policy was 75%. But later a notice was issued on 1st Feb. 2025 and passing percentage was reduced to 60%. See Notice in April 2025 Attempt section.
- It will comprise two (02) papers: Paper-I and Paper-II. Each paper will contain 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each worth 100 marks. Paper-I, which covers Basic Sciences, will be common to all specialties of MS/MD/MDS candidates. In contrast, Paper-II will be administered separately. (Notice Copy). For October 2024, the following 9 specialities will be announced:
- Medicine & Allied
- Surgery & Allied
- Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Anesthesiology
- Ophthalmology
- Diagnostic Radiology
- Psychiatry
- Oto-Rhino-Laryngology (ENT)
- Dentistry
- Note: Physiology, Community Medicine, and Pathology will be announced once Universities start induction in this.
- Specialty-specific JCAT will be implemented starting with the January 2025 induction.
- To accommodate candidates with a valid common JCAT, they must pass the second (specialty-based) paper of the JCAT to be considered for the January 2025 induction and beyond. The passing percentage for the second paper for these candidates will also be 75% (But later a notice was issued on 1st Feb. 2025 and passing percentage was reduced to 60%. See Notice in April 2025 Attempt section). The validity of the JCAT for such candidates will be calculated from the date they passed the common JCAT.
