Pakistan Coast Guards, Kayani Shaheed Road, Saddar, Karachi-3, invites applications for the post of Civilian Medical Officer on contract basis. The initial contract is for two years and may be renewed if the post remains available.
Position
- Civilian Medical Officer (Male), BPS-17, 2 posts
Qualification and experience
- MBBS. FCPS will be preferred.
- One-year house job, preferably 6 months in Medicine and 6 months in Surgery.
- Additional experience as Medical Officer/Specialist in any hospital will be preferred.
Age
- Civilians: 25 to 35 years
- Retired Army officers: up to 45 years
- Age relaxation up to 5 years as per government rules
Nationality and eligibility
- Pakistani citizen or resident of Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
- Not eligible: persons removed or dismissed from any government service on disciplinary grounds, or convicted by a court for a moral offence.
Terms of service
- May be posted anywhere in Balochistan/Sindh within the Coast Guards’ area of responsibility.
- No pension or gratuity.
- Either side must give one month’s notice, or one month’s basic pay, to end the contract.
- Private practice is not allowed under current policy.
- Postgraduate training or courses will not be allowed during the contract.
- The Official Secrets Act 1923 will apply.
- Salary and other benefits as per BPS-17.

Selection process
- After scrutiny, eligible candidates will be called for a written test.
- Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview.
- No TA/DA for the test or interview.
