Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, Rawalpindi invites applications for Ophthalmology Surgeons for its nationwide outreach eye camps.

Qualification and experience

  • FCPS in Ophthalmology or DOMS (with completed residency in ophthalmology)
  • Demonstrated capability to perform 30 to 40 cataract surgeries per day
  • Excellent surgical hand-eye coordination, knowledge of ocular anatomy and pathology, decision-making and organisational skills

Responsibilities

  • Safe, high-volume cataract surgery under strict aseptic conditions at camp sites
  • Pre-operative review, biometry check, consent, local anaesthesia and counselling
  • Inspect OT asepsis, sterilisation, instruments and IOL availability
  • Post-operative examination before discharge and first post-op day evaluation
