Manager (Research), Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health

The Aga Khan University, Karachi invites applications for a Manager (Research) in the Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health. This is a grant funded contractual position. MBBS is preferred.

Requirements

• Qualification: MPH, MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, MSc in Health Policy and Management, or a Master’s in Sociology or another relevant field; MBBS preferred
• Experience: 5 to 7 years of relevant experience, including research and health systems experience
• Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative research and familiarity with the government health system
• Experience in community-based management of acute malnutrition projects preferred
• Ability to manage field teams, strong writing and communication skills in English, and proficiency in MS Word and spreadsheets

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise research projects in the field, and develop data collection instruments and SOPs
• Hire and train physicians and research staff as required by the projects
• Develop grant proposals and support the PI/Co-PI in finalizing them
• Draft and submit manuscripts, present results at conferences, and prepare progress and monthly reports
• Liaise with community leaders and project staff to keep field activities running smoothly
