The Aga Khan University (AKU) invites applications for grant-funded contractual posts at its Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health (COE-WCH) field sites in Sujawal and Tharparkar.

1. Medical Officer, COE-WCH

  • Qualification: MBBS; additional clinical qualification preferred
  • Experience: At least two years
  • Ability to speak and understand job-related English and Urdu

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and enrol patients for the ongoing research study, follow them up and update visit schedules
  • Guide children who screen positive for disability or malnutrition
  • Take part in outreach camps and community mobilisation for the research project
  • Train CHWs, centre staff, field workers and junior research medical officers
  • Monitor, evaluate and validate field data collection; develop data collection forms
  • Submit weekly and monthly progress reports

2. Research Associate, COE-WCH

  • Qualification: MBBS, or Bachelors in Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology or a relevant field
  • Experience: 2 to 3 years of related work at community level; experience in a CMAM project preferred
  • Basic knowledge of surveys and research designs; experience in community-based data collection and training of primary healthcare providers
  • Willingness to work on field sites

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and monitor field activities at project sites across Pakistan and train project staff
  • Coordinate with government and community stakeholders in high-risk areas
  • Monitor and report hospital, mortality and disease surveillance; ensure completeness of CRFs and questionnaires
  • Contribute to proposal development and prepare project progress reports
