The International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), comprising Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD) and H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry, University of Karachi, announces admissions in M.Phil and PhD programs 2026.

Programs

  • PCMD (Molecular Medicine): Molecular and Cellular Biology, Molecular Genetics, Molecular Pharmacology, Neuro-Pharmacology, Pathophysiology, Biopharmaceutics, Computational Drug Discovery, Structural Biology, Stem Cell Research and Molecular Pathology
  • H.E.J. / T.W.C.: Organic Chemistry, Analytical / Physical / Inorganic Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Bio-Organic Chemistry, Textile Chemistry and Pharmacology

Eligibility for M.Phil

  • PCMD (Molecular Medicine): M.Sc or four years BS in Biochemistry, Genetics, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Medical Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Physiology or Zoology, or equivalent professional degrees such as MBBS, BS, B.Pharm and Pharm.D, with at least second division from an HEC recognized university / institution.
  • H.E.J. / T.W.C. (Chemistry / Pharmacology): M.Sc / BS (four years) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Applied Chemistry, B.Pharm, Pharm.D or equivalent, with at least second division from an HEC recognized university / institution.
  • Candidates with MBBS, BDS, DVM or equivalent will be required to complete 15 credit hours courses (300 to 600 level) before undertaking 24 credit hour M.Phil courses (700 level).

Eligibility for PhD

  • PCMD (Molecular Medicine): M.Phil, M.Pharm or equivalent in Biochemistry, Genetics, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Medical Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Physiology or Zoology from an HEC recognized university / institution.
  • H.E.J. / T.W.C.: M.Phil, M.Pharm or equivalent in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Applied Chemistry from an HEC recognized university / institution.

  • Submit the complete application form with required documents and processing fee of Rs. 8,000 at the Academic Coordination Office (Room No. WO-2) from June 29, 2026 to July 8, 2026. Incomplete and late applications will not be entertained.
