Postgraduate Training (FCPS-II, MCPS and Second Fellowship) at National Institute of Child Health (NICH), Karachi

Applications are invited for training in the following specialties and subspecialties at the National Institute of Child Health (NICH), Karachi.

Programs

  • Postgraduate Residency Program for FCPS-II (Paediatric Medicine)
  • Postgraduate Residency Program for FCPS-II (Paediatric Surgery)
  • Postgraduate Residency Program for MCPS (Paediatric Medicine)
  • Second Fellowship in: Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, Neonatology, Paediatric Neurology, Paediatric Nephrology, Paediatric Endocrinology, Paediatric Gastroenterology

Eligibility for FCPS-II Training in Paediatric Medicine

  • Minimum 3 months House Job in Paediatric Medicine from a PMDC-recognized institution, OR minimum 6 months experience as a Medical Officer in Paediatrics from a PMDC-recognized institution
  • Candidates already registered with RTMC and having more than 6 months training experience will not be allowed to appear in the entrance test
  • Candidates already registered with RTMC must submit NOC from their respective supervisors
  • Fresh candidates who have passed FCPS-I, or candidates who have passed FCPS-I within the last two years, are eligible to apply

Eligibility for FCPS-II Training in Paediatric Surgery

  • Two years General Surgery training is required
  • Candidates who have cleared IMM will be preferred

Eligibility for MCPS Training in Paediatric Medicine

  • Minimum 3 months House Job in Paediatric Medicine from a PMC-recognized institution, OR minimum 6 months experience as a Medical Officer in Paediatrics from a PMC-recognized institution
  • Candidates already registered with RTMC and having more than 6 months training experience will not be allowed to appear in the entrance test
  • Candidates already registered with RTMC must submit NOC from their respective supervisors

Eligibility for Second Fellowship

  • Candidates must have passed FCPS in General Paediatrics
  • Two years post-FCPS experience will be preferred
  • Selection will be subject to availability of paid training slots

General Instructions

  • Candidates in Government service must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their parent institution
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be called for written test/interview
  • Original documents must be presented at the time of interview
  • No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing in the test/interview

Submit attested photocopies of all relevant documents along with a duly signed undertaking/affidavit (draft available at the PGME Office) to the Postgraduate Section, National Institute of Child Health (NICH), Rafique Shaheed Road, Karachi.
