Applications are invited for appointment on contract basis at Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology, Sargodha under the Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department, Lahore.

Medical Director (IPS-11, 1 post)

  • Qualification: MBBS or equivalent medical qualification from an institution or university recognized by PM&DC/PMC; and FCPS (Cardiology / Cardiac Surgery) or MD / MS (Cardiology / Cardiac Surgery), FRCS, Membership or Fellowship of a Royal College (UK), Diplomate of the American Board, or any equivalent postgraduate qualification in the relevant specialty recognized/registered by PMDC/PMC
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years post-fellowship experience in a recognized healthcare institution, and at least 5 years in a clinical leadership role such as Medical Director, Head of Department or equivalent
  • At least 10 research publications in standard medical journals approved by HEC/PM&DC or internationally indexed medical journals in the relevant specialty
  • Age limit: 40 to 65 years
  • Tenure: 4 years, eligible for re-appointment subject to satisfactory performance evaluation

General conditions

  • Only candidates holding domicile of Punjab are eligible to apply
  • Government servants must apply through proper channel
  • Candidates claiming equivalent qualifications must provide an equivalence certificate issued by HEC or PMDC
  • General age relaxation in the upper age limit as per Government of Punjab policy
  • Posts are on lump-sum contract basis; private practice outside the institute is not permitted
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. No TA/DA admissible
