Ad hoc Appointments of Specialists, Medical Officers and Dental Surgeons, Directorate General Health Services, Azad Jammu & Kashmir

Applications are invited for ad hoc appointments against vacant posts in the Health Department AJK on open merit.

Specialist posts (BPS-18)

  • Radiologist: 7 posts. MBBS with MD or MCPS in the subject, or MBBS with postgraduate qualification like DMRD, or equivalent.
  • Eye Specialist: 1 post. MBBS with MS or FCPS, or MBBS with DO, DOMS or MCPS in the relevant subject.
  • Anaesthetist: 11 posts. MBBS with MS or FCPS, or MBBS with DA or MCPS in the relevant subject.
  • Cardiologist: 2 posts. MBBS with MD or FCPS in the relevant subject; if not available, MBBS with MCPS or postgraduate diploma in the relevant subject.
  • Pathologist: 4 posts. MBBS with DSc, PhD, MPhil, FCPS or MSc (2 years) in the relevant subject, or MBBS with DC Path or equivalent.
  • Nephrologist: 2 posts. MBBS with FCPS or MD (Nephrology); if not available, FCPS/MD (Medicine) with diploma in Nephrology, and 3 years practical experience in Nephrology after postgraduation.
  • Chest Specialist: 2 posts. MBBS with MD, FCPS, DTCD or MCPS in the subject.
  • Physician / Medical Specialist: 9 posts. MBBS with MD or FCPS (Medicine), or MBBS with MCPS (Medicine) or equivalent.
  • Surgical Specialist: 7 posts. MBBS with MS, FCPS, FRCS or MCPS in Surgery. Experience in the specialty preferred.
  • Child Specialist: 7 posts. MBBS with postgraduate qualification in Paediatrics and training/experience in preventive paediatrics.
  • Orthopaedic Surgeon: 3 posts. MBBS with MS, FCPS or FRCS in Orthopaedic Surgery or equivalent.
  • Gastroenterologist: 2 posts. MBBS with MS, FCPS, FRCS or MCPS in Gastroenterology or equivalent.
  • Gynaecologist: 5 posts. MBBS with MS or FCPS in Gynaecology, or MBBS with DGO or MCPS in Gynaecology.
  • Medico-Legal Surgeon: 3 posts. MBBS with FCPS or MPhil in the subject, or MBBS with DMJ (Medical Jurisprudence) or MCPS.

Other doctor posts (BPS-17)

  • Medical Officer: 71 posts. MBBS, PM&DC registration, one year regular house job.
  • Dental Surgeon: 12 posts. BDS, PM&DC registration, one year regular house job.
  • Assistant Director (M&E), Assistant Director (Training), Assistant Director (Surveillance): 2 posts each. MBBS recognized by PMDC, or BS Nursing / BS Allied Health Sciences.

How to apply: Send application with CV, attested copies of educational certificates, PM&DC registration, house job certificate, domicile, state subject and CNIC to the Office of the Director General Health, New District Complex, Block F, Old Secretariat, Muzaffarabad. Bring original documents at interview.

  • Posts 1 to 7 (Specialists) and Medical Officers for Mirpur Division, Muhajireen J&K settled in Pakistan, Poonch and Sudhnoti: March 11, 2026
  • Posts 8 to 14 (Specialists) and Medical Officers for Muzaffarabad Division, Muhajireen 1989, Bagh and Haveli: March 12, 2026
  • Posts 16 to 26 (including Dental Surgeons): March 13, 2026

Conditions: Ad hoc appointment gives no right to permanent appointment; it can be terminated with one month’s notice. Non-state subjects may also apply for Radiologist, Anaesthetist and Nephrologist posts, but state subjects will be preferred. No TA/DA for interview.
