Admission in Postgraduate MCPS / FCPS-II Training Programme (Session 2026-27B)

Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical College Lyari, Karachi invites applications from medical graduates on the prescribed form for admission in the following postgraduate training programmes (Session 2026-27).

Programmes Offered

  • FCPS-II: Gynae & Obs, General Surgery, Paediatrics Medicine
  • MCPS: Gynae & Obs, Paediatrics

Eligibility

  • MBBS from a university recognized by PMDC Islamabad (listed in Schedule I & II)
  • Valid PMDC registration as a medical practitioner
  • One year residential house job in a PMDC recognized institution
  • For FCPS-II training: candidates must have passed FCPS-I
  • For MCPS: MCPS admission test, and one year house job in the relevant specialties at a recognized institution
  • Foreign graduates must submit an equivalence certificate of their degree from PMDC
  • Entry test and interview/VIVA will be held for FCPS-II and other recognized training courses; selection will be on merit subject to availability of seats/stipend
  • In case of any disaster or health emergency, residents will be required to take part in relief activities as per government policy

Stipend

  • FCPS-II training is paid as per the stipend approved by the Government of Sindh; other courses are honorary

How to Apply

Application forms for each course can be obtained from the Office of the Director Postgraduate Medical Education, Training, Research and Ethics Committee, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical College Lyari, Karachi. In-service candidates must attach a No Objection Certificate from their employer, otherwise the application will be rejected. Applications received after the due date will not be considered.

  • Issuance of application forms: May 22, 2026
  • Last date: June 9, 2026
  • Entry test: June 10, 2026
  • Interview/VIVA: June 13, 2026
  • Commencement of session: July 1, 2026
